अभिनेत्री कंगणा रणौतचा बहुचर्चित ठरत असलेला ‘मणिकर्णिका-द क्वीन ऑफ झांसी’ हा चित्रपट लवकरच प्रेक्षकांच्या भेटीला येणार आहे. या चित्रपटाच्या माध्यमातून अभिनेत्री अंकिता लोखंडे पहिल्यांदाच बॉलिवूडमध्ये पदार्पण करणार आहे. या चित्रपटामध्ये अंकिताने झलकारीबाईंची भूमिका साकारली असून तिने या चित्रपटातील तिचा पहिला फोटो शेअर केला आहे.

झलकारीबाई यांच्या १८८ व्या जयंतीनिमित्त अंकिताने त्यांच्या रुपातील आपला खास लूक शेअर केला आहे. या फोटोसह तिने झलकारीबाईंची कारकिर्द आणि त्यांची थोडक्यात ओळख करुन दिली आहे.

‘झलकारीबाईं यांनी राणी लक्ष्मीबाईंसोबत मिळून १८५७मध्ये युद्ध लढले. त्या एक उत्तम महिला योद्धा होत्या. विशेष म्हणजे त्यांना आजही राणी लक्ष्मीबाई यांच्या सल्लागार म्हणून ओळखलं जातं’, असं अंकिताने कॅप्शनमध्ये म्हटलं आहे.

Jhalkaribai was a woman soldier who played an important role in the Indian Rebellion of 1857. She served in the women’s army of Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi. She eventually rose to a position of a prominent advisor to the queen, Rani of Jhansi herself. Her heroism and sacrifices for the society are unsung but this woman was one of the most important factors in the battle of Jhansi. I had never thought that I would get a chance to play such a strong character in my life but Manikarnika had taken me to a journey of not only discovering the real Jhalkari Bai but also helped me discover the Jhalkari Bai in me. पुढे तिने असंही लिहीलं आहे, ‘इतक्या महान व्यक्तीची भूमिका साकारण्याची  संधी मला मिळेल असं कधी स्वप्नातही वाटलं नव्हतं. पण ही भूमिका वठवून मला एक समजलं आहे, की प्रत्येक महिलेने झलकारीबाईंसारखं असायला हवं’.

दरम्यान,मणिकर्णिका’ हा चित्रपट येत्या २५ जानेवारी रोजी प्रेक्षकांच्या भेटीला येणार असून या चित्रपटाच्या काही भागाचे चित्रीकरण क्रिशच्या तर काही भागाचे कंगनाच्या दिग्दर्शनाखाली झाले आहे.
