अंडर १९ वर्ल्डकपमध्ये राहुल द्रविडच्या मार्गदर्शनाखाली खेळणाऱ्या टीम इंडियाने चमकदार कामगिरी केली आहे. पृथ्वी शॉच्या नेतृत्वाखाली खेळणारी टीम इंडिया सध्या कौतुकाचा विषय ठरली आहे. यंदाच्या वर्ल्डकपमध्ये भारताने सलग पाच सामन्यात विजय मिळवला. आता अंतिम सामन्यात विजयी षटकार मारुन भारताला अंडर १९ मधील विश्वविजेतेपद मिळवून देण्याचा संघाचा प्रयत्न आहे. भारतीय क्रिकेटची ही नवी पिढी घडवण्यात राहुल द्रविडचे मोलाचे योगदान आहे. अंडर १९ आणि भारत- अ संघाचा द्रविड प्रशिक्षक आहे. क्रिकेटच्या मैदानात द्रविड त्याच्या शांत, संयमी आणि तंत्रशुद्ध फलंदाजीसाठी ओळखला जायचे. बहुधा हाच वारसा आता द्रविड पुढच्या पिढीकडे देत आहे. द्रविडच्या मार्गदर्शनाखाली भारताने दुसऱ्यांदा अंडर १९ वर्ल्डकपच्या फायनलमध्ये धडक दिली आहे.
वर्ल्डकपला रवाना होण्यापूर्वी राहुलने पत्रकार परिषदेत त्याची भूमिका मांडली होती. आगामी सहा ते आठ महिन्यांच्या काळात या युवा संघातील खेळाडूंना भारताच्या ‘अ’ संघाकडून खेळताना पाहण्याचे लक्ष्य मी ठेवले आहे, असे द्रविडने सांगितले होते. युवा विश्वचषक स्पध्रेत रोमांचक आव्हान असतात आणि या खेळाडूंसाठी ही चांगली संधी आहे. भारताच्या राष्ट्रीय संघात स्थान मिळवण्याच्या दिशेने हे पहिले पाऊल आहे, असे त्याने नमूद केले होते. तर संघातील खेळाडूंनी भारत- पाक सामन्याचे महत्त्व ओळखून खेळले पाहिजे, असे त्याने सेमीफायनलपूर्वी म्हटले होते. प्रशिक्षक असला तरी द्रविडचा साधेपणा त्याच्या बोलण्यातून दिसून आला होता. युवा आणि भारत ‘अ’ संघाचा प्रशिक्षक म्हणून या खेळाडूंकडून मला बरेच काही शिकायला मिळाले, असे त्याने सांगितले होते. संघातील खेळाडूही कामगिरीचे श्रेय द्रविडलाच देत आहे. सोशल मीडियावर नेटिझन्सनेही राहुल द्रविडचे कौतुक केले आहे.
